Gawthrop Named Lead Sponsor of Up on the Roof
West Chester’s premier fundraising event on a downtown rooftop returned to the Borough with a sold-out crowd . The 19th Annual Up on the Roof – Happy Hour Edition, supporting the beautification of downtown West Chester, was held September 25th on the rooftop of Chestnut Street Garage. It was made possible by ongoing sponsorships including this year’s lead sponsor, Gawthrop Greenwood – Attorneys at Law.
“Our law firm has been located in the heart of West Chester for more than 100 years, and it’s important now more than ever to support the borough, its businesses and the outstanding work of the West Chester Downtown Foundation,” says Patrick McKenna, the managing partner of Gawthrop Greenwood – Attorneys at Law.
During a beautiful autumn evening under the setting sun, guests enjoyed endless hors d’oeuvres by Limoncello, a dessert buffet by some of West Chester’s favorite bakeries, plus a complimentary bar featuring beer, wine and the Gawthrop-tini.
Up on the Roof: Happy Hour Edition is a joint fundraising effort between the West Chester Downtown Foundation and the West Chester BID, promoting the beautification of downtown West Chester. The West Chester Business Improvement District (BID) is an economic development resource agency, providing downtown management and revitalization services for West Chester.
Event proceeds support the annual cleaning, flower beautification and marketing of Downtown West Chester, with more than $301,000 raised since 2002. The West Chester Downtown Foundation also continues to support other outstanding projects, including seasonal holiday carolers and the Historic Preservation Awards.
