Approachable and trustworthy are the words that come to mind when homeowners and businesses describe James Doyle in his work to guide and protect them through the most significant investments of their lives. With a real estate practice spanning Chester, Montgomery and Delaware counties, James concentrates his practice in homeowners and condominium association law, real estate transactions and litigation, zoning and land use, buyer/seller disputes and title matters. He was recently elected President of the Chester County Bar Association and the Chester County Bar Foundation. He was also appointed to Pennsylvania’s Legislative Action Committee for the Community Associations Institute (CAI), an international trade association with nearly 40,000 members that is at the forefront of community association law and dedicated to building better communities. James was awarded CAI Keystone’s Emerging Leaders Under 40 in 2023.

James joined Gawthrop Greenwood in January 2023 following a merger with Landis & Setzler, PC, where he served clients who are involved in the formation, governance and management of condominium and homeowners associations, and individuals and businesses who are involved in the buying, selling and development of residential and commercial land.

James has been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” by Main Line Today magazine, as well as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a distinction that only 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania receive. He received his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law, after serving as a senior editor of the Widener Journal of Law, Economics & Race and receiving multiple trial advocacy awards from the American Association of Justice. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Villanova University, where he also studied international relations in Beijing, China.

James is a proud graduate of B. Reed Henderson High School in West Chester, where he continues to reside with his wife and children. He enjoys travel, hiking and golf.
