For 35 years, Gawthrop Greenwood has awarded a Law Prize to three local students, and this year's winners are expressing their appreciation. Created in 1991, the Gawthrop Greenwood Law Prize ensures the advancement and education of Chester County’s youth by awarding a student from each of the three high schools in the West Chester Area School District.

Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, a full-service law firm with locations in West Chester and Greater Wilmington, has been appointed solicitor of the Chester County Coroner’s Office.
Gawthrop Greenwood partner Anthony T. Verwey will serve as lead solicitor, continuing the firm’s century-long service as trusted legal advocates for government entities.
Verwey’s team includes attorneys Robert Jefferson and Jessica Wiesak from Gawthrop Greenwood’s Government and Education Law Department, which provides legal counsel to cities, townships, boroughs, police departments, planning commissions, municipal authorities and zoning hearing boards. The firm advocates at government meetings; advises elected boards on governance, open records and other issues; litigates municipal, school, land development and zoning matters through appeal; and drafts legislative and policy documents for municipal governments.
Gawthrop Greenwood also supports education and special education law, where attorneys serve the needs of educators, schools, families and students facing a variety of challenges.
