We Are Hiring: Municipal & Land Use Attorney
Gawthrop Greenwood, PC is a mid-sized law firm based in West Chester, PA with offices in Berwyn, West Chester and Wilmington. We have an immediate opening for a mid-level attorney with 3-5 years of experience serving clients with zoning and land use needs, as well as advising municipal entities in PA.
Responsibilities & Tasks You Should Expect to Perform
As a Municipal & Land Use Attorney at Gawthrop, you should expect to perform the following responsibilities and tasks independently:
- Provide representation for private and public clients, including elected officials, in a variety of municipal and land use matters;
- Attend and maintain a steady schedule of public and client meetings and conferences (i.e. Board of Supervisors/Council, Municipal Authority, and Planning Commission Meetings; Zoning Hearing Board Hearings, etc.);
- Represent clients during hearings, trials, appeals and quasi-judicial matters;
- Draft necessary legal documents (i.e. agreements, applications, ordinances, zoning decisions, legal opinions); and
- Update clients regularly on their case status.
Minimum Criteria for Eligibility
- J.D. and bar admission in Pennsylvania
- 3-5 years of legal practice focused on Municipal, Zoning and Land Use
- Excellent initiative
- Experience in marketing legal practice and originating new clients
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
PT/FT: Full-time
