James Doyle Elected President of the Chester County Bar Association
Gawthrop Greenwood Partner James Doyle has been elected as the 2025 President of the Chester County Bar Association (CCBA), with CCBA Executive Director Greg Nardi noting that Doyle is the youngest president ever for the organization. Doyle has served on the CCBA’s Board of Directors since 2019.
“The Chester County Bar Association has a long and well-respected reputation, and it is an honor to be the twelfth attorney from Gawthrop Greenwood to serve as President of this esteemed organization,” said James Doyle, a partner at Gawthrop Greenwood who is a real estate and community association law attorney.
Doyle was inducted at CCBA’s ceremony at the historic courthouse in West Chester, PA on Thursday, December 5, 2024, during a moving “passing of the gavel” ceremony that included past presidents spanning the last five decades
A member of the Chester County Bar Association since 2013, Doyle currently serves as Chair of the CCBA Golf League and is on the Board of Directors of the Chester County Bar Foundation. He has also held various leadership roles within the organization, including Chair of the Young Lawyers Division, Chair of the Judicial Evaluation Committee, and Chair of the Real Estate Section.
With a real estate practice spanning Chester, Montgomery and Delaware counties, Doyle concentrates his practice in homeowners and condominium association law, real estate transactions and litigation, zoning and land use, buyer/seller disputes and title matters. He serves clients who are involved in the formation, governance and management of condominium and homeowners associations, and individuals and businesses who are involved in the buying, selling and development of residential and commercial land.
Doyle serves on Pennsylvania’s Legislative Action Committee for the Community Associations Institute (CAI), an international trade association with nearly 40,000 members that is at the forefront of community association law and dedicated to building better communities. In 2023, Doyle was awarded CAI Keystone’s Emerging Leaders Under 40. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce and as Vice Chair of the West Chester Borough Zoning Hearing Board.
Doyle has been recognized as a “Top Lawyer” by Main Line Today magazine, as well as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a distinction that only 2.5% of attorneys in Pennsylvania receive. He received his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Villanova University, where he also studied international relations in Beijing, China.
