A deeply divided PA Supreme Court issued a decision on November 24, 2025 in Coleman v. Parkland School District, No. 33 MAP 2024. The decision revolved around interpretation of Section 712.1 of the Sunshine Act, Notification of Agency Business Required and Exceptions.
Theodore T. Speedy on Rules of Professional Conduct
Municipal law attorney Theodore T. Speedy presented a continuing legal education (CLE) course to attorneys from across Chester County on December 12, 2025 on behalf of the Chester County Bar Association. Part of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s “Bridge the Gap” series, with a focus on the Rules of Professional Conduct, that’s designed to assist recent law school graduates as they transition from students to practitioners, Theo shared insight on the following key topics:
- Implementing best practices that help to ensure a good client/attorney relationship
- Interacting with court officials, opposing counsel, jurors and other third parties in line with the rules of professional conduct and the code of civility
- Understanding the importance of diversity and promoting an environment of diversity and inclusion within your practice
- Knowing how and why to perform fiduciary responsibilities
- Recognizing the purpose and functions of the disciplinary board
