Theodore T. Speedy on Rules of Professional Conduct
Municipal law attorney Theodore T. Speedy presented a continuing legal education (CLE) course to attorneys from across Chester County on December 12, 2025 on behalf of the Chester County Bar Association. Part of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s “Bridge the Gap” series, with a focus on the Rules of Professional Conduct, that’s designed to assist recent law school graduates as they transition from students to practitioners, Theo shared insight on the following key topics:
- Implementing best practices that help to ensure a good client/attorney relationship
- Interacting with court officials, opposing counsel, jurors and other third parties in line with the rules of professional conduct and the code of civility
- Understanding the importance of diversity and promoting an environment of diversity and inclusion within your practice
- Knowing how and why to perform fiduciary responsibilities
- Recognizing the purpose and functions of the disciplinary board
Theo brings a mission-driven focus and practical mindset to his municipal law and litigation practice. A U.S. Navy veteran and former civil engineer, he is passionate about public service and helping communities navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and precision. He advises municipalities on a wide range of legal matters, including governance, personnel, compliance and public policy. His litigation practice includes defending clients in civil rights, tort and employment discrimination cases in both state and federal courts.
