Three Bikes, $1200 in Toys and Countless Holiday Wishes Fulfilled
Every year when Black Friday rolls around, Gawthrop Greenwood, PC is on a very special mission.
Paralegal Karen Carter rolls out of bed promptly at 4:30 am to catch the holiday sales and purchase as many gifts as possible for local families in need. Then she and legal assistant Julie Smith wrap up the gifts for families who requested assistance through the Chester County Department of Children, Youth & Families (CYF).
It’s the seventh year that employees of Gawthrop Greenwood, PC have joined together to donate their personal funds for the program, which has resulted in three new bikes plus about $1,200 worth of toys. Three families will receive the gifts this holiday, with 10 children ranging in age from 8 months old to 16 years old.
Since the firm’s donations began, Gawthrop Greenwood has given more than $6,500 worth of gifts and monetary donations.
