3 Students Awarded Gawthrop Greenwood’s 2025 Law Prize
Three more local students just graduated from high school with the Gawthrop Greenwood Law Prize.
The night before I received the package with the award letter and book, I’d been contemplating what to do after completing my bachelor’s degree. Law had always been in the back of my mind, but I never seriously considered it until that night. The next day, when I received the package from Gawthrop Greenwood, PC, it felt like a sign that I was thinking and headed in the right direction. It sounds really cheesy, but I thought it was worth sharing because of how the award impacted me beyond financial help.

Gawthrop Greenwood has been encouraging, recognizing and honoring academic excellence since the law firm’s founding in 1904. Created in 1991, the Gawthrop Greenwood Law Prize ensures the advancement and education of Chester County’s youth by awarding a student from each of the three high schools in the West Chester Area School District. This year’s law prize winners, receiving $1,000 each, are:
- Liah He – Graduate of West Chester East High School, attending Claremont McKenna College
- Diya Lakshmanan – Graduate of Bayard Rustin High School, attending George Washington University
- Aadarshini Arangaly Vijesh – Graduate of West Chester B. Reed Henderson High School, attending George Washington University
“As one of the oldest law firms in the Greater Mid-Atlantic Region, we have a history of encouraging, recognizing and honoring academic excellence. Our continuing interest in the advancement and education of Chester County’s youth prompted the creation of the Gawthrop Greenwood Law Prize in 1991,”
Each award recipient also received a copy of the book We Can Do Hard Things: Answers to Life’s 20 Questions by Glennon Doyle, Abby Wambach and Amanda Doyle, “a place to turn when you feel clueless and alone, when you need clarity in the chaos, or when you want wise company on the path of life.”
“As these students prepare to depart on their new adventures in life, it is our sincere hope that they embrace the opportunities and meaningful connections that await and be the change the want to see in the world,” said Gawthrop Greenwood partner Stacey Fuller, who practices in the area of education law and has served as president of the West Chester Area Education Foundation,
