Gawthrop Greenwood Attorneys Named to “Rising Stars” List By Super Lawyers

Gawthrop Greenwood partners John E. D. Larkin and Stephen J. Olsen have been chosen for the 2018 Pennsylvania “Rising Stars” list, recognizing them as tops in their fields.

“Rising Stars” lists from the publishers of Super Lawyers magazine recognize top up-and-coming attorneys who are 40 years old or younger or have been practicing for 10 years or less, selecting outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in each state are selected each year to receive this honor.

This is the fifth consecutive year that John E. D. Larkin has been named to the Pennsylvania “Rising Stars” list in the Business Litigation category. A member of Gawthrop Greenwood’s litigation and criminal law departments, he focuses his civil practice on financial and insurance matters. His published works have appeared in law journals at the Georgetown University School of Law, Vanderbilt Law School, the University of Florida Law School, and the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, as well as in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Bar Quarterly and At Issue publications.

Stephen J. Olsen has been named to the Pennsylvania “Rising Stars” list seven times in the Estate & Probate category. He is member of Gawthrop Trusts & Estates department, practicing in the areas of taxation, trust and estate planning and administration, business transactional matters, and business succession planning. Author of numerous articles and a creator of and frequent poster on the popular blog Procedurally Taxing, he has gained recognition as an authority on tax law, offering commentary for local media.
