Gawthrop Greenwood, PC partner Anthony Verwey has been named by the Philadelphia Business Journal to its inaugural “Best of the Bar” awards in the Real Estate category. Nearly 170 nominations were submitted, with honorees selected based on a lawyer’s quality of achievement in the last year. Verwey was recognized with fellow honorees at the Best of the Bar awards event on Tuesday, October 24 at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia.
Verwey is a member of Gawthrop Greenwood’s Real Estate, Municipal as well as Litigation law departments. With a focus on real estate development, eminent domain, government and school law, Verwey has more than 25 years of experience navigating government regulations on behalf of developers, property owners, municipalities, appointed officials, school districts, and boards. Some of his most recent matters include approvals for a 112-unit townhouse development, as well as litigation involving real estate taxation, digital billboards and telecommunications. His practice also includes appeals addressing constitutional and other complex issues. He is the author of numerous articles, and a frequent speaker before township supervisors, legislative committees and chambers of commerce.
