Gawthrop Greenwood Attorney Patrick McKenna Elected President of Chester County Bar Foundation

 

 

Gawthrop Greenwood, PC Partner Patrick M. McKenna has been elected President of the Chester County Bar Foundation for 2020.

McKenna’s service begins following his tenure as President of the Chester County Bar Association.

“Under Patrick’s leadership and dedication to our 1,000 members, the Chester County Bar Association has leveraged the principles of its rich, 300-year history to inspire the next generations of attorneys in Chester County,” says Wendy Leeper, Executive Director of the Chester County Bar Association. “We’re excited to see Patrick bring that vision to the Chester County Bar Foundation and its mission of helping citizens understand, gain access to and benefit from our legal system.”

Programs supported by CCBF include Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Domestic Violence Center of Chester County, Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County and Family Service of Chester County.

“It has been an honor to uphold the impressive history and reputation of the the Chester County Bar Association as president, and I look forward to leading the Foundation,” says McKenna. “I am thankful for all of the support I have received from past presidents, current and former board members and other CCBA members who give so much of their time and energy to support the organization and profession.”

Eleven attorneys from Gawthrop Greenwood have served as CCBA President, including Gawthrop Greenwood partners Kevin Holleran (1995) and John Halsted (1976).

Patrick McKennaMcKenna has been a member of the Chester County Bar Association since 2002 and has also served as Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition, McKenna is a past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division and a past Chair of the Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Bylaws Committee.

McKenna received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Saint Joseph’s University, and received his law degree, cum laude, from Widener University School of Law in 2001, where he was a Josiah Oliver Wolcott Fellow. He holds court admissions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals 3rd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
