7th Annual Chef’s Best Competition
Gawthrop Greenwood is pleased to announce the winner of the 7th Annual Chef’s Best competition held Thursday, March 22, 2018 at West Chester University Alumni & Foundation Center.
Saloon 151 received the most votes from attendees who braved the remnants of the region’s fourth nor’easter. They helped raise more than $25,000 to enable ACT in Faith of Greater West Chester to continue to partner with the neediest members of the West Chester community.
About 250 supporters sampled specialty food, then voted for their favorite dish from four of West Chester’s finest restaurants: Bar Avalon, Saloon 151, The Social: Southern Scratch Kitchen and Bar, as well as defending champion Mercato Ristorante and Bar.
“This was our biggest Chef’s Best to date, and we are so grateful to the restaurants, sponsors, volunteers and supporters who made it happen,” says ACT in Faith Board President Denise Antonelli, who is also a partner at Gawthrop Greenwood, PC. “We congratulate Saloon 151, as well as all of our chefs on yet another delicious competition!”
Gawthrop Greenwood, PC was among the lead sponsors of the event. All proceeds support ACT in Faith of Greater West Chester, an interfaith organization that seeks to empower un- and under-employed West Chester residents to stabilize their households and build toward sustainability. Services include eviction and utility shut-off prevention, employment support services and a Community Cupboard, which provides personal care and household items as well as dry food goods and homemade frozen meals.
